If something you wanted so badly and waited a pretty long time for comes true!

First of all, Merry Christmas, Frohe Weihnachten en Vrolijk Kerstfeest everyone !

Last sunday, while everyone was already at home for christmas, and I was still hanging out all by myself in The Hague, I had nothing better to do to spend my so hard earned money on concert tickets. For WHO?! For Nick & Simon! Well, probably most of you won't know them as they are dutch and sing also in dutch. But, they also have a german longplayer but never mind, you probably won't know them. Their music style is Pop I would say, with in depth lyrics about life and love, what else.

I think I know them for 1 1/2 years now and I don't know how I found them but I just did. Probably because of one of their songs found it's way to me on Youtube. Anyway, as their lyrics are all in dutch, I learned dutch with them and I started to like their music a lot! So as they are not known in Germany they never had concerts here or anything so I promised myself that if I have the possebility to go to a concert of them while I am in The Netherlands for a year, I would grab the possebility without even thinking about it because it was a thing I wanted to do so badly. Seeing them for one time live and in colour would be a dream coming true :) !

I heard that they were having christmas concerts (= they do it each year or so or the last years and also next year in december playing christmas songs in English and some of their other hits) in Rotterdam, which is around the corner from The Hague, at the weekend while it were 2 weeks to go so I was looking for tickets as no one would be in town that weekend and I didn't have to work. Thanks to Martksplaats.nl (the dutch version of Ebay) I found a ticket for me. Bought it on Monday and the concert was on Sunday and it took the freaking fucked shit post 5 days to deliver my ticket. And I was a bit scary and near a mental breakdown as my ticket wasn't there on Friday and not on Saturday when the post came at 2 pm. I actually didn't care about the money which would be gone, more about the concert I couldn't go to as I was looking very forward to it since I ordered my ticket. Also, the girl I bought the ticket from promised me to give me my money back if the ticket wouldn't come in time as it still wasn't there Friday. Luckily, after driving my host family crazy with asking when does the post come on Friday, and when on Saturday and if there something for me my host mom told me on Saturday evening that there was some post and there was a letter for me while I wasn't at home until Sunday morning... I just asked her what kind of envelope and stuff and I just had to hope that it was my ticket there in the envelope until I could open it on Sunday early morning. Okay, what else should be in?!

And yes, it was my ticket in the envelope so I could sleep well early eaaarly sunday morning until I had to get up for getting ready to the concert. And wohooooo, I survived going with the Metro in Rotterdam! (If you wonder WTF?! now, I don't like going with the metro. Tram is fine but metro, I don't feel comfortable under the ground...)

The concert began at 2.30 pm. Yes, strange time but it was made for parents who also wanted to take their kids to the concert so pretty family friendly! Nice move! And it last for 2 long hours and a bit more!
It was pretty awesome! Seriously! They didn't have a support act, I had an awesome seat and they began on time. And they played beside the christmas songs all of my favourite songs of them so I pretty much was freaking out.
Beside playing all the grand songs, suddenly during one song, Simon, the one singer of Nick & Simon, was going down the stairs at our seating block. This was surreal and too freaky for me. I mean, seeing them LIVE and then, suddenly, he is standing right infront of you and is singing, this was graaaaand! And it made it a bit more special than it already was.

And, I feel settled and arrived here as I could sing their songs along without looking the text up, just from hearing it. Understanding dutch like a dutchie I guess. Feels great! YAY!

OOOOOOPS! Nick Keizer, folks!

With: CARO EMERALD!!! She speaks dutch! Pretty good. She is dutch actually which I didn't know. Damn it!

A big snowball :) !

Christmas market in Dordrecht and Dordrecht itself

It has been silent here recently.
Well, I had my sister over and the weather wasn't that awesome. Yes, a lot of storms and wind and a lot of rain. Or we simply had to work.

Yesterday we have been to Dordrecht to go there to the christmas market. I was once in Dordrecht, but only for a soccer match of Feyenoord Rotterdam. Yes, right. And there I haven't seen a lot but the station and the way to the stadion.

Dordrecht is a city in the South of the Netherlands 10 minutes from Rotterdam and 20 minutes from Breda.

It's quite famous and one of the few christmas markets in the Netherlands. But to be honest, for me it was nothing special and it was way too crowded! If you know christmas markets from home, then you don't need to visit one here. It's quite the same, maybe a bit worse.
A lot of market stands with food you can also get somewhere else and those cheap christmas decoration / gift stuff...

Christmas decoration at The Hague Centraal.

Too many people.

A kiss under the mistletoe.

Just follow the red carpet. The route which leads you to the different spots of the christmas markets in Dordrecht. Feel special.

LEKKER!

Dordrecht itself:
Photo credits go to Carina , who went upstairs the tower while I waited downstairs. Kind of forgot the sunset time.

If you have the possibility, you should go up the tower. You have a great view there, especially at sunset time!

Dordrecht being amazing during sunset!

Oude Haven.

Long exposure does magic with pictures :).

The dutch style...

Ooooh. Hello there.

Mooi!

Isn't that amazing?

Oude Haven. Looks so cool.
